May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Very nice. I love hearing these bits of poetic license from the rock.
I think it is so remarkable to be "from somewhere" and to have this great sense of history and past.
I am the child of migrants whose parents arrived from across the atlantic and drifted slowly westward. I have never felt the sense of connection and place that you seem to. I am envious

That reminds me of an irish saying that goes,
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
